What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
CSAs are a way for consumers to buy local, seasonal produce or meat directly from a farmer in their community. Basically, a farmer offers a certain number of “shares” to the public. Typically, the share consists of vegetables, but other farm products may be included. Interested consumers purchase a share, or basically a membership, and in turn receive an amount of seasonal produce for a certain period throughout the farming season.
